Why A Checklist

Most breakdowns on a long ride start as something small that nobody looked at. These are the five checks our technicians run before a vehicle leaves the workshop for a long trip.

• Fluids and leaks — oil, coolant, brake fluid, and anything marking the floor.
• Tyres — pressure, tread depth, and sidewall condition, including the spare.
• Brakes — pad thickness, lever or pedal feel, and hose condition.
• Battery and charging — voltage at rest and while running.
• Lights and visibility — headlights, brake lights, indicators, wipers, and mirrors.

Before You Leave

If any check raises a question, bring the vehicle in. A ten-minute inspection in the bay is cheaper than a recovery truck on the highway.
